Vibration analysis

At Aegis we provide our customers with the complete design solutions for their specific enquiries. Development of wind turbine analysis, simulation and monitoring software provides us with insight into the behaviour of client specific models, enabling the design and specification of mounts for optimum vibration isolation and shock protection.

Our in-house analysis software has been developed in collaboration between Aegis Rubber Engineering and vibration specialists from the School of Engineering and Design at Brunel University. Analysis software has been specifically tailored for wind applications and can provide static deflection analysis, natural frequency identification, transient response analysis and frequency analysis based on various loading conditions. The inclusion of an optimisation algorithm provides optimum mounting solutions for client specific applications.

Using the software we can provide clients with a more thorough understanding of the behaviour of flexibly mounted drive trains, whilst supplying mounts with the optimum mechanical properties to ensure high levels of vibration isolation, shock protection and noise attenuation. For a list of products we currently supply to the industry please click here.

Prototype mounts undergo a series of compression tests that can be used to verify theoretical mechanical properties. We also offer real-time monitoring in both time and frequency domains of existing systems through advanced vibration data acquisition software.

For requests of demonstration of the software for your given application or enquires relating specifically to the analysis services we provide for wind turbine applications please feel free to contact either our vibration engineer Paul Wastie or our Technical Manager John Hems.
